Raphael, Ramsden & Behers

Robin L. Frank is a partner at Raphael, Ramsden & Behers, and she concentrates her practice on several different areas, with a primary focus on family law and elder law. Ms. Frank has over a decade of experience handling family law matters throughout Western Pennsylvania, including divorce, prenuptial agreements, property distribution, support, local and international custody cases, protections from abuse, grandparents’ rights, and adoptions. She also devotes part of her practice to related issues such as juvenile dependencies, estate planning and administration, appellate court proceedings, business matters, and social media law. Additionally, Ms. Frank represents incapacitated people, family members, and healthcare providers in order to help them navigate the complexities of guardianship and civil commitment cases. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyers' “Rising Star,” which is a national rating used to denote lawyers with a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in their career fields.

Prior to joining Raphael, Ramsden & Behers, Ms. Frank acquired a diverse legal background by working for general practice firms. This experience helped to further her understanding of the unique challenges faced by each client. Whether the case leads to an amicable resolution or requires courtroom litigation, Ms. Frank strives to listen to her client’s objectives so that she can provide them with the knowledge that they need to make informed decisions throughout each step of the process.

Ms. Frank obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where she majored in psychology and sociology.  As an undergraduate, she worked on several research projects that studied social interactions between family members. Her work on these projects continued during her time at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and ultimately led to her interest in family law. The focus of the research projects largely involved promoting effective communication in order to achieve family goals, and Ms. Frank continues to use this knowledge in her legal career today.

While attending the University of Pittsburgh, Ms. Frank participated in a variety of opportunities that fostered her creativity and helped her to grow as a leader. One of her favorite pastimes involved attending college sporting events around the country as a member of the University of Pittsburgh bands. Based on this experience, she created a new organization dedicated to giving students and fans the best experience possible at Pitt games. The project led to an internship with the Pitt Athletics Department, where she later became a proud recipient of the George Carson Fellowship. Her work with the organization received national accolades when the University of Pittsburgh received the NCAA Athletics Director Association's Sportsmanship Recognition Award.

Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Frank remains active in the local community, where she recently completed a two-year term as the President of the Women’s Bar Association of Western Pennsylvania. She currently holds several leadership roles within the Allegheny County Bar Association, including the Chair of the Elder Law Section, a committee co-chair of the Family Law Section, and an elected member of the Judiciary Committee. She routinely presents legal education seminars to members of the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the local chapter of the American Matrimonial Inns of Court, and to other community groups. Ms. Frank continues to be involved with the Pitt Athletics Department by serving as a guest speaker and providing guidance to student-athletes through the “Panthers to Pros” mentorship program. She also remains dedicated to helping those who face mental health issues by volunteering as a podcast guest and a mentor to girls and women around the country as a member of the EmpowHER Retreat advisory board.
