Mr. Stachtiaris is trained in the Collaborative Law process, an alternative to the existing processes of mediation and court based litigation, for resolving family law issues.  Mr. Stachtiaris believes that the Collaborative process empowers those experiencing divorce, or related issues such as custody, by keeping control of the process and ultimately their own future.  Mr. Stachtiaris is committed to making this process successful in Southwestern Pennsylvania.  He is a founding member, and currently holds the office of Secretary, of the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania (CLASP).  Mr. Stachtiaris is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.

Mr. Stachtiaris teaches continuing education classes at the Community College of Allegheny County on Pennsylvania Divorce Law and the Collaborative Divorce process for those going through divorce.  He is also an instructor for National Business Institute; presenting continuing legal education seminars on various topics of Pennsylvania divorce law and practices to attorneys in the Pittsburgh area.  He also speaks at seminars held specifically for women going through the divorce process.

Mr. Stachtiaris is a member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.  He is also a member of the Family Law Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association, and was elected to the Family Law Section Council in 2005.  Mr. Stachtiaris served as co-chair of the ACBA Family Law Section's Professionalism Committee, providing the section with regular reports on ethical issues that effect lawyers practicing family law.  As co-chair he also co-developed and presented a seminar on motions practice in the Family Court.  Mr. Stachtiaris is an active member of the Matrimonial Inns of Court, an organization of Judges and lawyers dedicated to promoting ethics and professionalism in the legal system.
